She was actually raised by her paternal grandmother, Mary ROHRER, after Schuyler was killed in an explosion 12 Feb 1891 in Elkhart. Hazel and Glenn MASTEN had a son, Robert Dale, and a daughter, Betty Jean (b. 20 May 1925). Robert Dale was better known as "Dale" and was an Elkhart businessman for many years. Mary ROHRER was my gggrandmother. She married Henry NEISWANDER (date unknown) and they had 4 children: Cathrine Odel, Dora Lodema (my ggrandmother), Sarah Elizabeth (Libby), and (of course) Schuyler Jacob. I have the family Bible and a few "memorabilia" that you might be interested in. And, since I live in Elkhart, I could (possibly) do limited research for you. What other info are you looking for? Hope this helps! I also have info to share. I even had the pleasure of going out to PA to see where our ancestors settled after arriving there from Germany in 1754. I was born and raised in Elkhart and attended Rowe reunions 40 years ago. Would like to get in touch with some of the Elkhart Rowes and see if they have any old pictures they would like to share. I would also like to find out if any of the Elkhart Rowes had ancestors that came up from Posey Co, IN. I am missing a link between PA and Elkhart. Who went to Elkhart? I see where some on the PA Rowes migrated to Posey Co. My ancestors are as follows: parents: Richard (Rowe - adopted by his great aunt Lottie) Laughlin and Joyce Kiefer grandparents: Lottie Rowe (b. 1877) and William Laughlin great: John Rowe (b. 1864) and Lydia Shick great great: Peter Rau (b. 1815) and Eliza Smith (Concord Twnshp census 1850) great great great: John Rau (b. 1775) and Elizabeth Anderson great great great great: Jacob (?) great great great great great: George Rau (b. 1723) and Mary Magdalene ______________________________ X-Message: #4 Date: Mon, 16 Nov 1998 19:38:33 -0500 From: resist To: INELKHAR-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <3650C588.169A@concentric.net> Subject: [INELKHAR-L] DEPEW/DELONG Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Seeking ANY info on Depew's and/or Delong's.
