I am looking for some help in this area. This is my current dilema. Looking for the Death Certificate or information on Gideon Long. Gideon died1-26-1898. (all this info is according to family ) and was buried in the Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen next to his some James Long. However, there is no marker. And of course there is no record in the Elkhart Courthouse. (I really want some proof and to Gideon Parents) So next I thought I could try two things 1. write to funeral homes if any were operating in 1898 or 2. find the caretaker of the cemetery for any possible records of the gravesite (maybe died in another county?) Well I wrote to a funeral home but no reply. Then according to the Elkhart Gen soc. They are publishing in May something from the original (or oldest) funeral home. I am anxiously awaiting this and anyone volunteering to do look ups! Does anyone have any suggestions for cross country research?! I really need a good lead on this! Thanks for anyone's help!!!!
