Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Mearl, I have no proof on this yet, but I think Solomon Mishler and Magdelena Keim were the parents of my Elisabeth Mishler (b. 1828 in Ohio), that married Joseph Stouder. George Mishler, another son of Solomon married Joseph Stouders sister Susan. Is Elisabeth, Solomon and Magdelena's daughter? I am also interested in finding the parents of Elisabeth Cripe, b. about 1810, died before 1840. She was married to Christian Stouder, the father of the above Joseph and Susan Stouder. I have no leads yet on this side of the family. Thanks!! Carol Mearl Grabill wrote: > I have interest in Mishler, Stouder and Cripe families also. What lines are > you interested in. Her parents were Daniel and Magdalena Miller Cripe, pioneer settlers (1829) of Elkhart County. They came here from Montgomery County (Dayton) Ohio with his brother, Jacob Cripe and his wife, and two of their married daughters, Elizabeth and Susan who had married John Pippenger. Daniel Cripe was the founding elder of the Northern Indiana District of the German Baptist Brethren which later split several times and was the ancestor to the Church of the Brethren, First Church of the Brethren, and Dunkard Church. Their homestead was located about two miles south of Goshen where much of Goshen College now stands. They were initially buried in the Dierdorff Cemetery located on SR 15 across the road from the Yoder Funeral Home. A number of years ago, their graves were exhumed and relocated in a place of honor just inside the West Goshen Church of the Brethren Cemetery located on Berkey Avenue. This family is well documented within the Church of the Brethren Encyclopedia, etc.. Let me know if you are interested in more info. -----Original Message----- From: Spenader Family To: INELKHAR-L@rootsweb.com Date: Monday, March 30, 1998 7:35 AM Subject: Re: [INELKHAR-L] Stouder and related families... >Mearl, > >I have no proof on this yet, but I think Solomon Mishler and Magdelena Keim were >the parents of my Elisabeth Mishler (b. 1828 in Ohio), that married Joseph >Stouder. Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi Carol, Have been watching your correspondence about the MISHLER family. My great grandmother was a MISHLER decending from Joseph who was an immigrant with his widowed mother and brother. i According to the book Amish and Amish Mennonite Genealogy by Hugh Gingerich and Rachel Kreider published in 1986, the Elizabeth MISHLER who married Joseph STOUDER, was the daughter of David MISHLER and Anna KECK. This is shown on page 265. David was a younger brother to Solomon, father of George who was a first cousin to Elizabeth. ______________________________ -------------------- X-Message: #10 Date: Mon, 30 Mar 1998 15:11:08 EST From: ESmithTR To: INELKHAR-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <4a45ec3e.351ffc5e@aol.com> Subject: Re: [INELKHAR-L] Stouder and related families... Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi again Carol, I hit the wrong key and sent that last e-mail before I was ready. I was born and raised in Elkhart Co, graduating from Concord High School many years ago. As I said my great grandmother was Lucinda MISHLER who married Jonathan PLANK and lived in Elkhart Co. I remember as a child attending MISHLER family reunions and my PLANK grandparents hosting them occasionally at their home or at the old Grange Hall at the corner of Mishawaka Road and Oakland Ave. If you can find a copy of the book I mentioned in the last e-mail, it would give you a great start on the MISHLERs. I am sure there is a copy in the Goshen College Genealogy Library. If I can be of further help just ask. I am Edwin J. "Ed" Smith in Virginia Beach, VA. ______________________________ -------------------- X-Message: #11 Date: Mon, 30 Mar 1998 17:11:19 EST From: SRohn68434 To: INELKHAR-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <1f75f25e.35201888@aol.com> Subject: Re: [INELKHAR-L] Stouder and related families... I've just signed on to your list, and am hoping perhaps someone can help me with this cemetery info?? My 2nd cousin and I today went thru an old box of his mother's and found the deed as above dated 19 Sep 1869. But WILLIAM R. WILSON died and is buried in Santa Cruz Co, Calif. Only thing we could think is maybe his first wife, Lavonia? Her last name unknown. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for your consideration of this mystery!
