Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" If you're missing a male ancestor that was born between 1830 and 1846, it's poosible that he was one of the nearly 460 Civil War soldiers aboard the Sultana steamship that exploded on the Miss. River, 7 miles N of Memphis, TN on 27 APR 1865. Indiana was exceeded only by Ohio and Tennessee for having the most soldiers aboard. While 2 in 3 Hoosiers aboard survived the ordeal, the rest never made it home. You can search by surname for your ancestors at the following URL: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Tom/Indiana/INSult.html While you're visiting, be sure to follow the link back to my tribute page to my GGG Uncle, 10th Indiana Cavalry, at URL: http://www.rapidnet.com/~greg/Tom You won't regret visiting, I promise! Good luck! Thought I'd try it again. . I remember Grandma Flanery talking about family working at Perkins Sawmill. Anyone know anything about it? I believe it was probably in Elkhart, Co. My ancestor, Daniel Richardson and his brother in law, James Davis, erected the first saw mill and grist mill and the town of Jamestown was supposedly named after James Davis. Any takers? Will accept any information you would like to share! Need to have their death dates. Thanks in advance!
