I've been chasing my wife's genealogy (most of mine is in Europe and well, it's not very easy) for about 3 years. I've been working on some of her lines and decided it was time to pursue her grandfather - Reynolds Oliver STIEHM. Reynolds was born in Elkhart Co, IN (14 Jul 1909). His parents - Otto R. Stiehm (b23 Apr 1884 in Elkhart Co) married Georgia Grace BURTON (b 12 Nov 1911 in Elkhart Co.). Georgia's parents have been pretty well documented - Thomas BURTON-Gertrude WHITBECK, to William BURTON in Ohio and on back for some distance. (Anyone needing help here?) But the Stiehm-Shutt families have been illusive. They ended up in Wisconsin - where I am - but we're stuck before that. Any help would be appreciated. In the meantime, I'll lurk and listen and leran and maybe be able to help someone. Hi Ken, I have been working on my father's family (RINK) in Elkhart co. I have my ggrandmother, Nettie Anderson, b. 1881, her father, William Anderson remarried after Nettie's mother died to a Jennie Bittle. They had at least 4 more children together. One was Maude Ines b. 1895, m. to Louis J.P. Schutt, in Elkhart Co., 1914. I too, have had a hard time tracing the Schutt name. I do know that Maude remarried at some point to a Mr. Rigsby, as that was listed in my ggrandmother's obit. If you run across anything on Maude, I'd appreciate the info. If you can give me the SCHUTT names you are looking for, I'll keep an eye out too.
