Ludwig had a mill in Middlebury, IN. prior to 1892. Joseph was b in 1825 in White Deer, Union Co, PA d 5 Jun 1892, Middlebury; m 1849 Northumberland Co. PA Maria Barrett b 1826 Rushville, PA. Maria d in Middlebury 14 Jul 1891. They had dau Caroline b 1853, White Deer, PA m 1 Jun 1871, LaGrange Co. IN to John Johnson. He was a school teacher. They had my grandmother, who was born in Middlebury 15 Mar 1882. I have her diary which describes her childhood in Middlebury. Other surnames connected to Ludwig, Barrett. and Johnson are Tuttle, Tinkelpaw, and Odel. Appreciate hearing from anyone with any of these surnames. They ended up in Jackson Co. MI, by 1880 but not before.The family supposedly came from the Alsace Lorraine area of Germany. Sophia was the mother of my gr grandmother and my gr grandmother was about 2 when they came to this country about 1858. Sophia was the mother of this 2 year old, Wilhelmina Reimer. Sophia's maiden name was Ludwig/Ludwick.
