After reading posts on a couple lists for more than a year now, I've
noticed lots of folks from the Holmes Co, OH area moved to the northern
Indiana counties of St. Joseph, Marshall, Elkhart, and Kosciusko. 

Was there something special about this area of Indiana ca 1850?

Hoping someone has some ideas!

My 2nd gr. grand mother was Artemecia Martin Fuller from somewhere in
OH. She lived in the St. Joseph, Elkhart, and Cass Co. MI areas. My
mother said that they used to have Martin family reunions in the 1920s.
I have a picture of one of the reunions in Potawatomi park. They used to
alternate between South bend and Cassopolis. Does anyone know of any
Martins that went to these reunions?
