Cemeteries? Or the actually cemetery transcriptions? I am looking for Jake and Anna Jane SHELLENBERGER. I could have the surname mispelled slightly, but that is how it is in a family bible. I have no dates for Jake, but Anna was born on August 4, 1841 and died in the month of November (according to bible) in unknown year. According to the same family bible she is buried in Vistula, IN. I've been looking for Anna and Jake for a long time, so any help will be appreciated. Last summer some of us from our local FHC volunteered to record the cemeteries here in Brookings, Curry county Oregon..They are now listed with each and every person recorded as they are on their tombstones.. What a thrill for me to see our work and interest posted with the many others that are on there. You may find your family here...and when the weather gets better why not gather some of your friends and go transcribe a cemetery or two? I have already rec'd thank you's from people around the country that have found who they are looking for here in Brookings, Curry co, Oregon. Good project to get involved with..AND if you can't go out, you can do the typing...after the names are brought back to you..that is a big job in it's self! This is the URL for the USGENWEB Tombstone Transcription Project. http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/ Wilma Fleming Haynes gencon@harborside.com ______________________________ X-Message: #3 Date: Mon, 25 Jan 1999 18:52:03 -0500 From: Linda Allred Cooper To: INELKHAR-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <199901251852_MC2-67FC-7764@compuserve.com> Subject: [INELKHAR-L] Snellenberger Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Hi Kathy: My GGGrandmother was Lydia Snellenberger, born 1853 in Ohio and died 1929 in Warsaw, Kosciusko County, IN. She was married to Michael Blue, my GGGrandfather. I don't have any info on your Anna or Jake, but if you run across any connection to my Lydia, let me know and I'll be glad to share her family tree info. I believe it was in conjunction with another family. I failed to make a hard copy of this e-mail and now find I have need to correspond with the originator. The reason is that Thelma MASTEN and my mother, Lois PLANK, were first cousins and daughters of two CLIPP sisters. I have been contracted about a book being prepared to detail the descendants of the sisters' grandfather, Conrad CLIPP, an 1855 immigrant to Elkhart County, and would like to possibly include Thelma's descendants in this book. Would appreciate being e-mailed directly at ESmithTR@aol.com (Ed Smith, in Virginia Beach, VA) Thanks for everyone's patience and understanding for this intrusion to the list.
