Gordon Fletcher was born on August 18, 1901 in Wakarusa, IN. He married Mae S. Robin on July 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL. They last resided at 406 S. 6th Street, Elkhart.
He is survived by his wife, Mae; 3 sons: Gordon D., Robert L., and Carl E; and 3 daughters: Mrs. Richard (Madelyne) Warren, Mrs. George (Ruth) Backert and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Simms; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
2 brothers are still living: Donald and Leland Fletcher.
Stemm-Lawson Funeral Home performed services. The Rev. Kent Borgaard of Central Christ Church officiated.
Mr. Fletcher was a member of International Association of Machinists of Aerospace Workers 1118.

Mae Sara Fletcher
Elkhart - Mae Sara Fletcher was born September 11, 1904 in Chicago, IL. She died at home on Sunday, September 18, 1983.
As Mae Sara Robin(Robbin), she married Gordon F. Fletcher on July 11, 1921 in Chicago, IL. He died in 1973.
She is survived by a brother, John Robbin of Chicago, IL and a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Letzow.
Stemm-Lawson-Peterson performed services at Central Christ Church by Rev. John Glosser, co-pastor. Burial was in Rice Cemetery.
She retired from Dresswell Cleaners and she was a member of Central Christ Church and the YWCA.
She had 20 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Donald Fletcher (condensed version)
Elkhart - Donald Fletcher was born May 25, 1904 in Wakarusa, IN. He died April 11, 1983.
Donald remained a bachelor and lived at 1203 Cass Street, Elkhart. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of Thomas McCoy American Legion Post.
He retired from C.G. Conn LTD.
He was at Americana Health Center since January.

Leland P. "Pete" Fletcher
Elkhart - Leland P. "Pete" Fletcher, 97, of 330 E. Simonton Street, died at 6:50pm Wednesday, October 23, 1996 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home of natural causes.
He was born March 6, 1899, in New Paris, IN. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Wanetta) McFall and Mrs. Heloise Almarsi, both of Elkhart; 7 sons, Thomas K. of Elkhart, Charles F. of Edwardsburg, MI, Lavon D., Lamar D. Reginald, Ronald and William F., all of Elkhart; 31 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. One daughter, Patricia Pixley, 2 brothers, Gordon and Donald, one sister, Florence Sledgister, and one great granddaughter are deceased.
Friends may call from noon to 6pm Sunday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, where services will be at 10am Monday. Burial is in Veterans section of Rice Cemetery where military services will be led by the Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Fletcher worked for C.G. Conn and Bendix, from where he retired in 1965. He was a life member of the American Legion, DAV and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Elkhart Moose Lodge and a veteran of the US Army in WWI. He also served as Grand Marshall for numerous parades in Elkhart.
Memorials may be given to Loveway or DAV.

MRS. SIMON FLICKINGER
Mrs. Simon Flickinger, 74 years old, died at 2:15 this afternoon at her home, 610 Emerson St. After a long illness. Her death was caused by uraemic poisoning. Mrs. Flickinger is survived by her husband, a son, Neil Fuller, of South Bend, and 3 daughters, Mrs. Milo Geyer, of Milford; Mrs. Emma Troup of New Paris and Mrs. G.C. Miles of Rhinelander, Wis.

MRS. MARY A. FRAVEY

Mrs. Mary A. Fravey, 88, 32l Olive Street, died at 9 a.m. Sunday at her home, suffering a sudden heart attack.
Mrs. Fravey, a native of Payne, Ohio, had resided in Goshen for 45 years, moving here from Millersburg. Mrs Fravey would have observed her 89 th birthday on August l5. Her husband John died in l94l.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Glenn (stella) Bell, Goshen, whose husband died only a week ago; Mrs. Leota Smead, Elkhart,; Mrs. Frank (Cora) Wilfret, Goshen; and Mrs. Kenneth (Virginia) Mock, Elkhart; two sons, William and David Pepper, Goshen; 33 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Webster Burk Goshen.
The body is at the Culp Funeral Home.

MRS. MARY A. FRAVEY

Death of Mrs. J.H. Fravey.
Mrs. John H. Fravey died at her home in Millersburg Sunday, April 28, She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Snively and was well known. She was born in Elkhart county in l865 and was married to Mr. Fravey in l890. Her husband and two children, Bessie and Ralph, survive her, four children having died in infancy. She is also survived by four sisters and one brother.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at l030 o'clock at the Berkey church in Clinton Township.

Samuel A. Frevert
Samuel Frevert, one of Nappanee's business men, passed away at his home at 205 West Market Street on Christmas day following a five day illness of heart trouble. With his passing one of the oldest business men of the city passed on to his greatest reward. Mr. Frevert was born on July 4, 1861 at New Paris, Ind., a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Frevert. He was married to Effie Mine Welsh on Sept. 25, 1883 at Plymouth and they took up farming near Plymouth, later moving to his father's farm and in 1901 they came to Nappanee to make their home. Upon coming to this city Mr. Frevert became associated with his brother, Edward E. Frevert, and J.F. Weiss, of Bremen, in the hardware business, the firm being known by the name of Frevert Bros. & Weiss. Following the dissolution of this partnership he remained with the new owners for a number of years and then took employment with A.H. Kaufman & Co. and there until 1930, when he retired. The one interest in which he took active part was the affairs of the Nappanee Utilities company, being a member of the board of directors and its president for many years, in fact taking over these duties in 1921 and active until the end, being president of the board for over twenty years. Mr. Frevert was a member of the Presbyterian church, always took an active part in all Masonic work, being a member of all the Masonic bodies, including the Scottish Rite at South Bend. The Freverts had no children of their own but have one foster son, Otto Streck, of Nappanee, and also raised Mrs. Addie Sheren of Mishawaka and Mrs. Bessie Culp, of Southwest, and these survive along with Mrs. Frevert, a foster granddaughter, and a foster great grandchild. The body will lay in state at the Frevert home until the hour of the funeral services, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Arthur Raabe, of Warsaw, officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park cemetery at Plymouth.

Mrs. Carolyn Evans Friend, 26 , 224 South Twenty-seventh Street, died at 5l5 a.m. today at the Elkhart General Hospital, where she was admitted Feb. 8. Mrs. Friend at been ill for two years with cancer.
She was born in Goshen June l 7 , 1947, and had lived here all here life. In 1970 she was married to Samuel Friend, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Colleen; three sons, Steve Allen, Ernest, and Samuel Jr., all at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville (Ruby) Evans; six brothers, Russell, Robert, Ernest, Harold and Clarence Evans , all of Goshen, and Orville Jr., Syracuse, and three sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Hershberger, Mrs. Phyllis Stewart, both of Goshen, and Mrs. Dale (Judy) Moser, Flint, Mich.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where services will be held l30 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Floyd Hartzell of Goshen United Pentecostal Church will officiate, and interment will be in the Oak Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Friend was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church.
