Ralph A. Kerns,
79, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Washington, Indiana, passed away on
June 12, 2012 at the St. Louis University Hospital . He had resided the
past five years at the Delmar Gardens Nursing Home in St. Louis. Born
on December 1, 1932, in Martin County he was the son of Alton and
Lillian Bauer Kerns. He is survived by two sons Mark and Scott Kerns
both of St. Charles, MO. One daughter Tamela Leaver of Baldwin, MO. One brother Clarence Kerns of Mitchell Three sisters Betty Crays of French Lick, Phyllis Wininger of Crawfordsville, and Mary Rose Risner of Crawfordsville. Eight grandsons. Numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother John Walter Kerns. Upon graduation from Shoals High School in 1950, he served in the United States Air Force in Korea. He retired in 1992 as Manager of National Gypsum. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Dubois Crossroads, Washington American Legion Post #121, Washington Indiana Moose Lodge #1080, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #414 Washington and Cissell – Jackman V.F.W. Post #332 Washington. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the Queen-Lee Funeral Home in Shoals, with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery Dubois Crossroads. Shoals American Legion Post #61 will conduct military graveside rites. Pastor Mary Poston will officiate. |
