Sylvia Eldena Keller, age 90 of Jasper, Indiana passed away at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday (March 13, 2012) at her home in Jasper. She was born in Martin County, Indiana September 9, 1921 to Orian and Ora May (Parsons) Hembree. She married Lester H. Keller April 8, 1947 at the Emmanuel Hill Lutheran Church in Dubois. He preceded her in death September 23, 2004. Sylvia was a homemaker and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads. She enjoyed working on the family farm and her garden. Surviving, Two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Cindy) Hewitt, Shoals, IN Yvonne Keller, Jasper, IN One son, Terry and spouse Joyce, Santa Claus, IN Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren Five sisters, Lucille Fuhrman, Loogootee, IN Edith Ziegler, Washington, IN Ora Taylor, Loogootee, IN Mrs. Harold (Crystal) Dyal, Odon, IN Delpha Sendelweck, Jasper, IN Two brothers, Orian Hembree Jr. Council Bluff, IA Norman Edward Hembree, Carlise, IN Preceding her in death besides her husband are four sisters, Velma Wening, Mary Hembree, Melva Simmons and Veda Chambers. Also Three brothers, Alvin , Woodrow and Ernest Hembree. Funeral services for Sylvia Keller will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (March 17, 2012) in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. The Rev. Mary Poston will officiate. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday (March 16, 2012) at the Becher- Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
