Obituaries

Pauline Eichmiller, age 95, passed away at 07:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2014, at her home.

She was born on April 28, 1919 in Harbison Township to Oscar and Anna (Neukam) Breitwieser.

She married Herman Eichmiller on November 16, 1937 in Emanuel Hill Lutheran Church at Dubois, Indiana. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2000.

Pauline was a homemaker and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads and WELCA of St. John’s where she taught Sunday school and making blankets for her church.

She enjoyed her flowers and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her son, Harold Eichmiller and wife Jeaniene, of Shoals; daughters, Wanda Smith and her husband David, of Loogootee, Lou Ann Gutgsell and her husband Larry, of St. Anthony, and Dolores Esmeier and her husband John, of Daytona, Fla.;
18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna Mae Hautsch of Jasper, Aleda Tucker, of Chesapeake, Va.,  and Elta Borman, of Boonville.

Preceding her in death are one daughter Anita Bauer and three sons, Louis Jacob Eichmiller and James and Gary Eichmiller who died in infancy. Also two brothers, Ralph and Robert Breitwieser; and two sisters, Vera Rein and Melba Baker.

Funeral services for Pauline Eichmiller will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. The Rev. Mary Poston will officiate.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel and one hour before services at church. The Rev. Mary Poston will officiate.
