Obituary for John WeberDateline Jasper, Indiana John Weber Sr., age 91 of Jasper, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Sunday (April 1, 2012) at the Timbers of Jasper. He was born December 4, 1920 in Portersville, Indiana to Charles H. and Emma (Harder) Weber. He married Rozella Wicklund November 9, 1946. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2006. John was a WWII Navy Veteran and served his country going around the world on one ship. He was a retired truck driver for the former I & S Motor Express and retired under Briggs Transportation Company. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper - V.F.W. Post # 673 - American Legion Post # 147 and Navy Club Ship #90. Surviving, Daughter, Mrs. Newman ( Emma Jean) Conklin, Bloomington, IN Son, John G. Weber, Jasper, IN Three grandchildren, one step grandchild, six great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Two sisters, Carolyn Weber Braunecker, Jasper, IN Louise Cochran, Jasper, IN Two brother, Paul Weber, Portersville, IN Lloyd Hobart Weber, Hazelwood, MO Preceding him in death besides his wife are two brothers, Amos Weber and Glen Weber and one sister, Margaret Vogel. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (April 7, 2012) at the Portersville Cemetery in Portersville. The Rev. Larry Langer will officiate. V.F.W. Post # 673 in Japer will conduct military grave side rites. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Jasper, or to the Portersville Cemetery. |
