Roberta J. Harris, age 90, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:18 a.m. on Tuesday (April 12, 2016) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Roberta was born on April 24, 1925 in Jasper, Indiana, to Robert and Maime (Frank) Mehne. She married Walter N. Harris on October 12, 1944 at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on September 20, 2000.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, where she was a charter member and a 50 plus year member of the Extension Homemaker's Club. She also attended Shiloh Church and the New Heart Sunday School Class.

She was a farmer's wife and helped out on the farm. She also worked at Lord's Dress Shop for many years and retired from the Cato store.

She enjoyed daily devotions, gardening, baking, cooking, quilting and her flowers.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one son, Robert Nicholas "Nick" Harris and one sister, Cleda Jackle.

Funeral services for Roberta J. Harris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (April 16, 2016) at Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville, with burial to follow in the Portersville Cemetery. Pastor Tim Kraemer and Pastor Steve Seitz will officiate.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday (April 15, 2016), at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, Christ Lutheran Church, the Dubois County Community Foundation, or to a favorite charity.
