Cooper Cemetery

  It is abandoned. In 1932 there were many graves marked by field stones and many others -were sunken and unmarked. From the stones that could be read, the following inscriptions were copied:


Batie, James - died August 2, 1859, aged 32 years, 1 month and 21 days. (this tombstone was made at New Albany.
Cooper, Ouanda - daughter of W.B. & A. Cooper, born May 30, 1857, died April 4, 1860, aged 3 years, 10 mo. 4 da.
Cooper, William B. - born Dec. 1, 1813, died July 14, 1864,aged 50 yrs, 7 mo. and 13 days.
Milburn, Francis - born Feb. 10, 1804, died Nov. 25, 1861.
Milburn, John W. - son of R.E & E.J. Milburn died Aug 6, 1863, age 3yrs, 10 mo and one day
Milburn, Jonathan - died Oct 26, 1853, age 61 yrs, 3 mo & 23 days (broken at date line)
Milburn, Mary - wife of E. Milburn, born Dec. 9, 1809, died Sept. 5, 1866
Milburn, Robert - born Nov. 30,1790, died 27 April, 1860.
Milburn, Sarah - wife of John A. Milburn, died Jan. 12, 1863, aged 65 yrs, 11 mo. and 18 days.
Milburn, Sarah E. - daughter of R.E. & E.J. Milburn, died July 5, 1853, aged 5 days.
Milburn, Sarah E. - daughter of E. & M. Milburn, died May 24, 1861, aged 18 yrs, 17 days.
