James E.
"Sam" Hueston 75, of Bloomington, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at
Bloomington Hospital.
Born July 4,
1927, in West Baden, IN, he was the son of William Clayton and Ada (Whitehead)
Hueston.
He was
retired from the City of Bloomington Fire Department in 1973. He retired from
Woolery Mill in 1987.
He was a
member of the F&AM Lodge # 173 in Stanford, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis,
Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, Stone Belt Shrine of Bloomington, American Legion
Post 18, Hillbilly Clan # 14, Clear Creek Christian Church, and was a former
member of Flying Hoosiers Motorcycle Club. He was an avid golfer.
He served
with the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.
He is
survived by his wife, Judy (Wampler) Hueston; one daughter and son-in-law,
Kathy and Randy Perry of Bloomington; one granddaughter; Erin Perry of
Bloomington; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Roger Mahan of
Bloomfield and Bonnie and Joseph Ashcraft of Lyons, IN; one brother and sister-in-law,
Woody and Delores Hueston of Bloomington; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Bob and Liz Wampler; two stepsisters, Lorene Warren of Indianapolis and
Josephine Brindley of Colorado; two stepbrothers, Kenny Self of Bloomington and
Obed Self of Greenwood, IN; several nieces and nephews.
He was
preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifton Snell and Harrison
Snell; and one sister Estelle Goodman.
Funeral
services will be at Day Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Harold
Godsey officiating. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers
will be his nephews, David Wampler, Doug Wampler, Woodrow S. Hueston, Jack
Morrison Jr., Edwin Snell, Larry Snell, and Jerry Adams.
Friends may
call at the funeral home today 4-8 p.m. and Friday 2-8 p.m.. Masonic memorial
services will be conducted at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
