Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Oak Village in
Oaktown.
Born May 16,1905, in
Martin County, he was the son of George Evans and Alice Winninger.
He was a longtime farmer
in the Vincennes and Wheatland area. He was
educated in Martin County schools;
His wife, Mae Collins
Evans, passed away on May 20, 1990. Four sisters, three brothers, one
grandchild, and two great-
grandchildren are deceased.
Survivors include one
son, Cresy Evans Jr. of Wheatland; three daughters, Izetta
Lee Edmondson, Jean Wampler, and
Esther McCracken, all of Vincennes; two sisters, Ida Riggs
of Munster and Isma Brothers of Loogootee; two brothers,
Gerland Evans and Walter Evans, both of Washington; five grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild.
The funeral will be
conduced at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Goodwin Funeral Home by Ray Tromley. Burial will
be in the
Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
