Gerald L. Dickey, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away
unexpectedly on Sunday, October
4, 2020. He was born on March 30, 1937 to the late Roland and Iva (Tredway) Dickey.. Gerald attended Assumption Grade School and
Washington High School. He
served honorably in the United States Army for 3 years after which hewas employed at National Starch and Chemical
until he retired in 1999.Gerald
devoted his time to his wife of 56 years. His grandkids were the light of his life and he loved spending time
with them by attending all of their
sporting events and during family vacations in FL. Gerald was an avid fisherman and loved spending time on
the water with his buddies. He was a life-long Cubs fan and loved cheering on Notre Dame, IU, Pacers,
Colts, St Roch Rockets and the Roncalli Rebels. He enjoyed getting together with the Billy Club and
the Over The Hill Gang.
Survivors include
his wife, MaryAnn; sons, John Dickey (Joann) and Tom Dickey and daughter, Lisa
Babb (Joe) and grandchildren, Michael,
David, Danielle, Shane, Lisa, Benjamin, Matthew and Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents and
brother George Ashworth. Visitation
will be Thursday, October 8, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Lauck & Veldhof,
1458 S. MeridianSt. with a
rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Friday October 9,at 11:00 a.m.
at St. Roch Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St. with prayers being said at the
funeral home prior to Mass at
10:30 a.m. Burial will follow services in Calvary Cemetery.
