Hopefully, someone can help I.D. the pictures.
I know they are from the Lewis and Catherine (Hayden) King family. They lived in Delaware Co. all their life. I'm not positive if they lived elsewhere in the county but I think they started out, at least, over where I-69 crosses over Bethel Pike (Road, now). You know where King's Chapel is? Well, that church's land was donated by Cornelius King, father of Lewis H., William A.(my line) and Ora Emery King...the three brothers all lived right around there.
I'm not sure where exactly but somewhere over there is where a cow or bull dragged or gored Ora or somehow hurt him when he was trying to lead him across the road. Ora hit his head on a rock, app. and died from the injuries. Then, his brother, William (my Great Grandpa) died the next day without knowing his brother Ora had just died. This was 21st, 22nd July 1928. My Great Grandpa had had a stroke several months earlier and finally died that day.
I know Wm. died in the house that sits on the corner of Bethel Pike, that you'd run into, after you cross over I-69, heading toward Alex. That house that is right in front of you as you cross the bridge on Bethel Pike over I-69, that house now is owned by Mary Ella Foster. That is where my Great Grandpa William A. King died. I think his brother lived sort of across the road from King's Chapel when all this happened. They had a large double funeral at Beulah Park (where is that??). That is the saga of the three King brothers.
Lewis Howard King lived at 821 N. Mulberry, Muncie in 1923. When I visited his daughter, LaVella, three years ago, she lived in Muncie but I don't have her address right here. So, they must have lived around there toward the end of their lives. His son, Albert King, also lived in Muncie, three years ago. Both LaVella and Albert are in the Waters at Yorktown now. Hope someone has knowledge of these pictures to identify them.
