He was in WW2 and was a prisoner of war in Korea. He received a hero's

COURTNEY E. Wayne Courtney
served in the U.S. Army during the period of the Korean War. He entered
the service in July of 1953 after receiving a commission in Field
Artillery as a Gun Commander. 1st Lt Courtney was on orders to S.E.
Asia from his post at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, but was later sent to Germany,
where he was stationed at Pirmasens until April, 1955. Following his
active duty assignment, he returned to Indiana where he continued to be
in the active Army Reserves for twelve years. During this duty, he was
promoted through the ranks to Major, Military Intelligence, and was
given retirement status at the end of this period. Submitted

KOREAN WAR VETERANS
COURTNEY,
Donald Winston, born in Elnora on March 18th, 1933. He is a veteran of
the Post-Korean War. He graduated from Purdue University and was
commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the United States Army Transportation Corps
in the Spring of 1955. He served on active duty at Fort Eustice,
Virginia before being assigned to duty in Ande du Bussac (France).
After returning to Indiana he served in a Reserve status and logged in
20 years of service to the military. He retired at the rank of Captain.
