George Yeager


GEORGE YEAGER (No date Given) George Thomas Yeager, 66, 900 N.W. Second St., Washington, died unexpectedly at the Daviess County Hospital at 8:06 a.m. Monday. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Arthur Mergen officiating. Internment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ed lee Mortuary after 3 p.m. Wednesday. A Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born April 9, 1922 in Daviess County to Daniel Francis and Lenora Love Field Yeager. He married Valeria Myrth Dobbyn April 11, 1942 and she survives. He was retired form the L & N Railroad. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. He was past commander of the American Legion No. 121 and was commander of the American Legion-VFW Honor Guard. He was a life member of VFW Post 1114 of Evansville and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. He lived in Evansville from 1952 -1976. Surviving are three sons and five daughters, George Thomas Yeager Jr., Cadiz, Ky., Dr. James Lowell Yeager, Deerfield, Ill., Mrs. Phillip (Diana Kay) Alvey, Wadesville, Mrs. Daniel (Janice Marie) Alvey, Mrs. Donald (Carolyn Sue) Stock, and Alan Ray Yeager, all of Evansville, Mrs. Mark (Brenda Jane) Clark, Mt. Vernon, Ill., and Mrs. Kirk (Gloria June) Butz, Bloomington, eight grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Harley (Maxine) Weibel, Tacoma, Wash. One granddaughter and one brother and one sister, Marion Yeager and Marjorie Cooper are deceased.
