Anna Wittmer

ODON — Anna Wittmer, 91, died at 5:32 p.m. Friday at Ketcham Memorial
Center.
Born July 31, 1918, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of
Victor and Sarah (Wagler) Lengacher. She was a homemaker. Survivors include
six sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Rita Wittmer, Ezra and Betty
Wittmer and Ray and Vickie Wittmer, all of Odon, Virgil and Mary Catherine
Wittmer of Elnora, Daniel and Carol Wittmer of Glendale and Ervin and
Nina Wittmer of Plainville; one daughter, Sarah Matthew of Washington;
a daughter-in-law, Kathy Wittmer of Plainville; 18 grandchildren; 54
great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters,
Lydia Raber of Odon and Marie Stoll of Loogootee. Her husband, Roy W.
Wittmer, whom she married Dec. 3, 1939, died May 30, 2004. A son, Paul
Wittmer; a grandson, Jeff Wittmer; a great-grandson, Dawson Wittmer;
a great-granddaughter, Mellissa Miller; three sisters, Corene Knepp,
Tillie Lengacher and Viola Knepp; and two brothers, John Lengacher and
Ezra Lengacher, are also deceased. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. today
at First Mennonite Church, with Revs. Gaylon Sommers and Melvin Paulus
officiating. Burial will be in Zion-Mennonite Cemetery. Calling was from
2 p.m. Sunday until time of service at the church. Arrangements are being
