SUSAN TUCKER TAKEN BY DEATH AT HOME TODAY
Aged Resident of Washington Seriously Ill Short Time
Mrs. Susan Allen Tucker, 87, for many years a resident of Washington, died this morning at 2:10 o'clock at her home, 702 S.W. First street, death coming after a serious illness of four days. Death of the aged resident was attributed to general debility. She had been in failing health for months, but not until four days ago did her condition become critical. Little hope had been held for her recovery since then. Born in North Carolina on July 18, 1846, the deceased spent a few years there before coming to Washington. She was married to John Wm. Tucker who died in Feb. of 1886. She is survived by four children, Mrs. Patrick Kelly of Washington, Mrs. Charles Hamer of Princeton, Daniel Tucker of Washington and Alvis Tucker of Thebes, Ill. There are three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There are no brothers or sisters. The deceased for many years had lived in the same residence where she died and she was widely and favorably known in Washington. She was a member of the United Brethren Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the United Brethren Church with Rev. J.W. McMurtry in charge. Burial will be made in Oak Grove Cemetery. Elwood Williams will have charge of the funeral
