JOHN TROWBRIDE, WHEATLAND, DIES AT HOSPITAL HERE
FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT SUCCUMBS SHORTLY AFTER REACHING HOSPITAL
John W. Trowbridge, 43, of Wheatland, died at the Daviess county hospital
at 8:40 o'clock Friday night from acute dilatation of the heart following
a brief illness.
Mr. Trowbridge had been failing in health for about five months and confined to bed part of the time during the last two weeks. He became much worse yesterday afternoon and was brought to the hospital a short time before his death.
Born April 10, 1893, the son of John A. Trowbridge, a native of Kentucky and
Julia Strange of Daviess county. He was educated in Daviess county and was a
private in the World war. He was employed as a trip rider at the Standard coal
mine.
Mr. Trowbridge was married April 10, 1923 to Emma Gammon who survives with the following children: Emma Lucille, Leroy, Victor Leon, Wilma Kathleen, Beula May and John Clayton. Surviving also are the parents and seven brothers and sisters, George Trowbridge, Wheatland; Arthur and Homer Trowbridge, Mrs. Gus Ebler and Mrs. Ora Lee, of Washington; Mrs. Ethel Davis of Wheatland and Mrs. Raymond Alton of Mackey, Indiana.
Mr. Trowbridge was a member of the Wheatland M. E. church and of the American
Legion. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the
Wheatland M. E. church in charge of the Rev. O. E. Haley, assisted by Rev. Jackson
of the Wheatland Mission. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery. The body will
be taken from the Elwood Williams funeral home to Wheatland this afternoon.
