MARCELLA SUMMERS
Martha Marcella Summers, 77, 811 Center St, died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday at her residence.
Born Sept 24, 1927, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Nellie (Potts) Reed.
A 1946 Montgomery High School graduate, she also graduated from Welborn Hospital School of Nursing in Evansville in 1949. She was a registered nurse at Daviess Community Hospital for 43 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Larry Wise of Boonville and Cheryl and Troy Manning of Washington; three grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Heather Duncan and Penny Kabriel; five great-grandchildren, Kristian, Chelsea and Kaitlyn Ballard; Alia Duncan and Ben Brown; and three sisters, Lucille Stoll of Montgomery, Myrtle Leukhart and Eldena Simmons, both of Washington.
Her husband, Ernest H. Summers, whom she married May 20, 1949, died Feb 3 (sic), 1963. Two brothers, Floyd and Robert Reed, and one great-grandchild, Tiffany Brown, are also deceased.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Gill Chapel with Bro Huey Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery/
Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
