DENSIL G. SMITH
Funeral services for Densil B. (Jake) SMITH will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
at St.John's Catholic Church in Loogootee with burial in St. John cemetery.
Mr. SMITH, 70, 502 Vincennes St, Loogootee, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday
at Jasper Memorial Hospital. He had been a printer for many years,
working for the Bedford newspaper before coming to Washington 25 years
ago with the Washington Democrat. He continued with the Daily Times
and the Times-Herald, and since his retirement had worked at the Times-Herald
part time. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He was born
in Martin Co Aug 20 1902, son of Lee and Emma (BRAMBLE) SMITH. In 1933
he married Ruth DEVINE, who survives. He leaves two sons, Mike B. SMITH,
San Francisco, CA, and Mark A. SMITH, Peru, IN, one grandchild and
four sisters: Mrs. Ernest (Eula) LION, Shoals, Mrs. Ruth WALKER, Sarasota,
FL, Mrs. Joe (Doris) PATTERSON, and Mrs. Allen (Virginia) BAKER, both
of Loogootee. Friends may call at the Titzer Funeral Home in Loogootee.
Members of the parish will pray the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. today.
