Daniel Homer Smith (Known as Homer Daniel)

Funeral services for Homer Smith, Plainville, route one, who died suddenly at 1PM Thursday, are to be conducted at 2PM Sunday at the First Christian Church in this city, with burial in the Plainville Cemetery. The body will be at the Gill funeral chapel until 6PM this evening, when it will be removed to the family residence, where friends also may call. Mr. Smith had suffered a heart attack on June 30, but his condition had been improved recently. He was stricken again Thursday and died suddenly. He was 69 years old and was born April 1, 1875 in Sullivan County, Indiana the son of William F. and Susan (Pirtle) Smith. Mr. Smith had been a resident of this community for 60 years and was educated in the Daviess County schools. He was a member of the First Christian Church of this city, and of the local IOOF Lodge, where he was a past noble grand. He also was a member of the BRC organization, having been employed by the Baltimore and Ohio railroad as a carman. Mr. Smith married Martha E. Bennington January 11, 1903 and she survives with one son, Ralph H. Smith, of Washington, two grandchildren, Billy Gene and Norma Louise Smith. Mr. Smith also leaves two brothers, Edward A. Smith, of Washington, rural route, George Smith, of Plainville, and a sister, Mrs. E.C. Hedden of Plainville
