RICHARD E. SHELTON DIES IN CHICAGO
Richard E. Shelton, 39, 507 S.E. 5th Street, Washington, died suddenly
Thursday in Chicago. Mr. Shelton, a self-employed painter, was educated
in Washington Schools and had lived in this community all his life.
He was a veteran of World War II. Born November 28, 1928, in Washington,
he was the son of Louis B. Shelton, who survives, and the late Lettie
Letha (Potts) Shelton. Other survivors include his step-mother: one
daughter, Mrs. William (Camilla June) Baumert and one son, Richard
Shelton Jr., both of Washington; one brother, Wilbur E. Shelter, one
sister, Mrs. William (Virginia) Tomey; two step-sisters, Mrs. Carl
(Hazel) Collins and Mrs. William (Wilma) Kurtz, all of Washington.
One sister, Mrs. James C. Evans and one brother, Herman Shelton, preceded
him in death. The body is being returned to the Gill Funeral Home.
