Dorothy Shelton

Dorothy Virginia Shelton, 85, formerly of Donaldson Road, died at 4:46 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate Manor Nursing Center. Born April 24, 1920, in Maysville, she was the daughter of Luther I. and Betty (Hill) Ingram. She attended Jefferson Elementary and Washington High School and worked as a clerk at Jay C Food Store for 38 years. She was a member of Maysville United Methodist Church, Betsy Ross Home Demonstration Club, Moose Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Indian Rock Camping Club and Cherokee Sam's No. 54 Camping Club. She is survived by nieces Donna Guinn of Maysville, Tonya Bush of Chicago Heights, IL, and Susan Hickelman of White Head, ALA; nephews Max Ingram of Washington, David Bush of Sedgwick, KA, and James Bush of Kissing Oak, TX. Her husband, Wilber E. Shelton, whom she married Aug 20, 1938, died July 29, 2001. Sisters Aline Bush and Pauline Bell, brothers Clifford Tip Ingram and Norman Jack Ingram and nephew Jeff Bell are also deceased. The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gill Chapel with Rev. Lucia Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Maysville United Methodist Church.
