George R. “Bob” Seal, 87, left our world on Aug. 17 from kidney failure at the V.A. hospital in Tucson, Ariz., where he received excellent care. Born Aug. 30, 1919, in Washington, he was the son of Pemire J. and Mary (McGrath) Seal. He served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, as an office clerk. He was a lifelong member of the Eagles. He loved having Washington as his home where he enjoyed playing euchre with his many friends. When he was in Tucson he found happiness and contentment spending time with his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Buzan of Tucson; grandchildren, Dorothy Marquez, Alfred Gastelum and Linda DeRocher, all of Tucson, and Roman Gastelum of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Seal of Washington; and one sister, Laverne Eckerle of Jasper. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy S. (Greene) Seal; his second wife, Rose Ann (Baker) Seal; and three brothers, James, Carl and Joseph Seal. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John Cemetery, with Rev. Gordon Mann officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Washington American Legion and V.F.W. There will be no visitation. Memorial donations may be made to the V.A. Hospital at 3601 South Sixth Ave., Tucson, Ariz. Arrangements are being made through Ed Lee Mortuary.
