THE REV. A. C. SCOTT DIED OF CANCER AT ODON TUESDAY
The Rev. A. C. Scott, one of the best known men in Daviess county, died at his home at Odon Tuesday afternoon after many weeks of patient suffering from a cancer. For the last few weeks he had been tortured with great pain. For some years this gentle old man has been unable to follow his chosen calling, owing to poor health. He was attacked with cancer, and although the doctors did everything in their power to stop the growth it gradually became worse. He was unconscious towards the last. Death came about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. He was in the civil war from beginning to end, and was known more generally by the name of Captain Scott than any other. After leaving the war he entered the ministry. He was a member of the United Brethren church. The Rev. A. C. Scott was past eighty, and the last twenty-five years of his life had been spent at Odon. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. They are Bert Scott, Mrs. Dora Childs of Indianapolis and Mrs. Dave McCord of Odon. The funeral services will be held at Odon tomorrow.
