PHILIP SCHNARR PASSES
Philip F. Schnarr, age 64, 303 Southside Avenue, city, passed away at
11:15 p.m. Thursday at the Daveiss County Hospital. He had been ill
since last April and seriously ill only one day. Mr. Schnarr was born
in Dubois County, August 30, 1895, the son of John George and Kathy
(Buchta) Schnarr. January 27, 1920, he married Leona Smith and she
survives. He was a member of the E.U.B. Church here in Washington and
was a former trustee of the Oak Grove Church in Reeve Township He was
a retired farmer and a disabled veteran of World War I. The deceased
moved to this county in 1920 and to Washington in 1945. Two sons, Clyde
W. and Leland Schnarr, both of Reeve Township; three daughters, Mrs.
Lloyd (Bernice) Scott, Mrs. Lee (Ruth) Kail and Mrs. John (Dorothy)
Essig, all of this city, survive. Threre are nine grandchildren. Brothers
and sisters are: Frank, of Indianapolis; Fred and Lawrence, both of
Reeve Township; Edward, of Harrison Township; Ralph of this city; Mrs.
Henry (Mae) Mann, of Otwell; and Mrs. Minnie Qualkenbush, of this city.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the E.U.B. Church,
with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, here. Rev. R. P. Hawkins will
officiate. Friends may call at the Gill Funeral Home. The Delta Theta
Tau will call at the funeral home to pay respects at 7:30 p.m. today.
