RODGERS FUNERAL TO BE TUESDAY
Mrs. Shiloh A. Rodgers, age 89, 609 E.
Walnut, died at 1:35 a.m. today at the Daviess county hospital following
a serious illness of one week. She had been ill since December of 1965.
Mrs. Rodgers was born August 5, 1877, in Pike County, the daughter of
James and Nancy K. (Rock) Gilley. She married William L. (sic) Rodgers
on March 31, 1894, and he preceded her in death on Jul 5, 1927 (sic).
She was a member of the First Baptist church and was educated in the
Pike county schools. Surviving are two sons, Walter J. Rodgers, Los Angeles,
CA; Oris J. Rodgers, Trenton, MI; six daughters, Mrs. Myles (Opal) Maddox,
Islamorada, FL, Mrs. John (Mona) Edwards, Indianapolis, Mrs. Norwood
(Geneva) Merrill, Allen Park, MI, Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Harris, Loogootee;
Mrs. Earl (Katherine) Bullock and Mrs. Joe (Wava) Riester, both of Washington.
There are 31 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren, and several nieces
and nephews. A son, Earl, preceded her in death. Funeral services will
be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday at the Gill chapel with Dr. Wm R. Seat, assisted
by Dr. Noble Butler, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery
in Reeve township. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m.
Sunday.
