Eleanor Kinnaman Purcell

MOORESVILLE — Eleanor Kinnaman Purcell, 87, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove. Born June 4, 1921, near Montgomery, she was the daughter of Clifford and Ufa (Wise) Kinnaman. A 1939 graduate of Montgomery High School, she worked as a store clerk in various retail stores. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school, planting and tending to her flowers, and was a proud member of the RedKey Town and Country Homemaker’s Exchange Club. She had been a resident of Miller’s Merry Manor in Mooresville for the last 2 1/2 years. She is survived by one son, D. Glenn Purcell of Edwardsburg, Mich.; one daughter, Carol A. McMaster of Mooresville; sisters, Jean Critchlow of Ellettsville, Marie Haskins of Washington, and Norma Hicks of Spring Hill, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Her husband, L. Lloyd Purcell, whom she married April 3, 1949, died in 1999. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville, with Rev. Dennis Payton officiating. There will be no visitation. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association. Arrangements are being made through Carlisle and Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville.
