FRANK M. POTTS, 54 DIES IN HOSPITAL HERE
Franklin Mason Potts, 54 years old, Portersville Road, died at the Daviess County Hospital at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Mr. Potts, owner and operator of Quality Cleaners, 15 N. E. 3rd Street, had been seriously ill since June. He was born June 10, 1910 in Pike County, the son of Charles J. and Nancy Ann (Catt) Potts, and graduated from Washington High School in 1927. Mr. Potts was active in many organizations, and was well known and well liked. He was a member of the Washington Evangelical United Brethren Church, Charity Lodge No. 30 F&AM, Washington Council No. 67 R&SM; Washington Chapter No. 92 RAM, Washington Commandery No. 33 KT, Hadi Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S., and the Elks and Moose Lodges. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks. He leaves his widow, the former Bernice Pride, whom he married June 4, 1932, a daughter, Mrs. Claude (Nedra) Webber, Blytheville, Arkansas, and three brothers and two sisters: Arthur E. Potts, Huntington, West Virginia; Mrs. Cecil Owens, Edgar R. Potts and Mrs. Thomas E. (Olive) Loyd, all of this city and Charles J. Potts Jr., Mitchell. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the E.U.B. Church with Rev. R. P. Hawkins in charge and burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Masons will be in charge at the grave. Friends may call at the Gill Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until noon, Thursday, when the casket will be taken to the church. The Elks will hold services at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
