DEATH TAKES BARBARA POTTS
Barbara A. Potts, widow of Benjamin F. Potts, died at 1:15 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Dillon, one mile east of Glendale in Harrison township. Mrs. Potts had been ailing several months and seriously ill two days. She was born Nov 28, 1872, in Dubois county, the daughter of William and Susan Mehne Krodel. She married Mr. Potts 57 years ago and moved to Daviess county. Her husband died in 1948. She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist church at High Rock. Survivors included these children: Carl Potts, Le Mars, Iowa; Durbin F. Potts, Churchland, VA; Walter J. Potts, Otwell, Mrs. Leo (Laura) Russell, city, and Mrs. George (Marie) Dillon, Harrison township. She also leaves 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two brothers, William S. Krodel, Greenville, TX, and Frank Krodel of Jasper and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hauser, city, and Mrs. Effie Williams of Michigan City, IN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove church in Reeve Township. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Homer Leighty of Otwell will officiate. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the Gill funeral home to pay respects.
