Mrs. Patton Passes Away Mrs. Nellie M. Patton, wife of Ira Patton, died
at the county hospital at 6:40 o'clock Wednesday evening. She submitted
to a surgical operation Monday afternoon to obtain relief from an abscess.
She was forty-two years old. The funeral has not been definitely arranged.
Mrs. Patton's maiden name was Gibbs. She was born in Martin county.
Surviving her there are seven children, Clarence, Edward, Clementine,
Ida, Nellie, Charles and Robert; two brothers, John Wm. Gibbs of Indianapolis
and Ben Gibbs, of this city and two sisters, Mrs. Samuel Clark of Oklahoma
and Mrs. Lulu Batchelor of this city. Mrs. Nellie Gibbs Patton was
a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. The body has been removed
to the home of her son Clarence, 508 Center Street.
