ANNA NOLLEY DIES
WELL KNOWN RESIDENT SUCCUMBS AT AGE OF 81 YEARS
Mrs Anna Nolley, a well known and respected resident of this community passed away at the home of her son, Geo. Nolley who resides 5 miles south of Montgomery Saturday morning. Her death was caused by old age and general debility.
Mrs. Nolley was born September 13, 1838 in Kentucky and was 81 years, 2 months and 23 days of age at the time of her death.
On May 7, 1857 she was united in marriage to Edward B. Nolley and to this union nine children were born, 1 son and 8 daughters, six of whom still survive.
Mrs Nolley lived her early life in those days of Civil Strife that brought sorrow and hardship to the whole nation. She gave her husband to his country in service and thru the long years of the war, like many mother and wife, she battled along until the close of the war, when he returned to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three daughters. She leaves to mourn their loss, five daughters; Mrs Helen Stuckey and Mrs Amanda Stuckey of Loogootee Mrs Grace Salyards of Washington, Mrs Lyda Burress of Bicknell and Gerte of Dayton Ohio and one son Geo near Montgomery.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the M. E. Church in Epsom. Burial was made at the Toberts Chapel.
Mrs. Nolley was a member of the Methodist church in this city and when there and able to go was found in her place.
