Clara Belle Fisher Matthews

Mrs. Clara Belle Matthews, age 64, died at her residence in Montgomery at 9:30 o'clock this morning after a lingering illness. She had been seriously ill three months. Deceased was born June 26, 1889, in Daviess County, the daughter of William S. and Mary (Chestnut) Fisher. She was a member of the New Bethel E.U.B. Church and the Security Benefit Association. Her first marriage was to John Bynum who preceded her in death. She married John Matthews in 1914 and he survives with these children by the first marriage: Mrs. George (Helen) Feaster of Winslow; Ray Bynum of Columbus, Ind.; two step children Mrs. Thomas (Bernice) Webber, Montgomery and Ward Matthews, Elnora; and two brothers and a sister, Clarence Fisher, E. St. Louis; Harvey Fisher and Mrs. Bertha Goodwin of Plainville. There are 12 grand and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at the V.L. Poindexter chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Saturday at the chapel with burial at Walnut Hill cemetery in Odon.
