Robert Augustine Lett, 66, 303 Lincoln St, Loogootee, died at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes. He had been ill nine years and was seriously ill three months. He was born July 16, 1915, in Daviess County to Roy G. and Eva May (Combs) Lett. He married Jeanette Frazo May 20, 1941, and she survives. Mr. Lett attended Glendale schools. He was a retired self-employed trucker. He was a member of the Christian Church in Loogootee. Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Rebecca) Halbleib, Jasper, and two sons, Terry L. Lett, Loogootee, and Gary G. Lett, Ohio, seven grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Katheryn) Truelove, Mrs. Raymond (Jane) Lewis and Mrs. Randall (Dora) Simmons, all of this city, and Mrs. Robert (Jean) Fox, Loogootee, and one brother, Earl Tom Lett, city. One son, Richard, one granddaughter, two sisters and one brother have died. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Gill Chapel with Bro. Eugene Grasham officiating. Burial will be in Veale Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. The family requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Respiratory Therapy Department at Good Samaritan Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
