ED N. KELSO DIES AT FAMILY RESIDENCE
Ed N. Kelso, 85-year-old retired
farmer of Reeve township, died Thursday at 8:45 p.m. at his residence
in Alfordsville. He had been in failing health for some time but his
death was sudden. Mr. Kelso, who was widely known throughout Daviess
County, was born in Reeve township March 15, 1876, the son of the late
Decatur and Mary Patterson Kelso. He was a member of the Old Union Church
of Christ. He was twice married. His first wife, Nora Gobel, preceded
him in death February 10, 1915. In July 1916, he married Julia Porter
and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Jewell)
Brown, R.R.1, Loogootee and a step-daughter, Mrs. William (Wilma) Robinson
of Alfordsville. One son is deceased. There are four grandchildren and
eight great grandchildren. A brother, William Kelso, resides in Alfordsville.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Alfordsville Methodist
church with burial in Old Union Cemetery. Rev. Donald Deal, assisted
by Rev. Oscar Snyder, will officiate. Friends may call at the residence.
