Norma Louise Kettery Hughes

Jacksonville, Fla.---Mrs. Norma Hughes, 56, formerly of East Walnut St., moving to Jacksonville, Fla. in 1987, died unexpectedly at the Emergency Room of Humana Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Saturday evening. The funeral will be at 10:30AM Saturday, Dec. 30 at Gill Chapel, with Bro. Byron Black officiating. Interment will be in Sugarland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4PM to 9PM Friday at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 26, 1933 in Daviess County to John Alvis and Myrtle (Myers) Kettery. Her husband, Bill Hughes, survives. She was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. She was a retired office manager and bookkeeper of Smith Olds, working for 19 years and was also secretary/treasurer of the Corporation. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Washington, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Women of the Moose, CSX Dispatcher Wife's Club and Ladies Auxiliary Wesconnett Shrine of Jacksonville, Fla. She was an associate member of the Gold Wing Road Rider Club. Surviving are her husband and her mother of Washington, Ind., one son and three daughters, Dennis Abbott, St. Augustine, Fla., Mrs. Mary Hammons, Columbus, Ind., Mrs. Karla Orender, Virginia Beach, Va., Holly Hughes, Evansville, Ind., eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Don (Alice) Taylor, Vincennes, Ind., and Nancy Reyes, Schererville, Ind. One sister, Brenda Davis, one brother, Maurice Wayne Kettery, one niece, Delaine Renee Davis, and her father John Alvis Kettery, have died
