John B. Hedrick, probably better known as "Tucker Hedrick," an employee of the Carnahan Manufacturing company's plaining mill at Loogootee, died Tuesday afternoon, at 5 o'clock as a result of a paralytic stroke, which he received Tuesday morning. Mr. Hedrick was the fireman at the plaining mill and was sound at the rear of the plant in a semi-conscious condition about 8 o'clock Tuesday morning. He was removed to his home in the southwestern part of the town and received medical attention. He suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage and was unconscious until the last. Mr. Hedrick was about fifty-four years of age and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hedrick of Alfordsvilles, both of whom are living. Besides his aged parents he leaves a wife, an adopted son who lives at Wheatland and three brothers and one sister. He was a member of the Christian church and the Odd Fellows lodge. The funeral was conducted at Alfordsville Wednesday morning and was in charge of the Odd Fellows lodge of that town there being about 100 attending in a body.
