WINSLOW, Ariz. — Walter L. Gilley, 80, died July 25. Born Nov. 17, 1928, in Washington, he was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School, he retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years and AT&T after 20 years. He was known for his kindness and generosity. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Bobette and William Watkins and Janette and Craig Weber; grandchildren, Erin Weber and Raeanne and Ryan Watkins; and sisters, Dorothy Jones, Sally Bradley, Nancy Wessely, Ferbie Nolley, Merle Byer and Trudy Davis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gilley; parents, Carrie (Potts) and Walter Gilley; brother, Bud Gilley; and sister, Margaret Carlson. Services have been held.
