COVENTRY, RI--Mrs. Mary Margaret Gilley Carlson, 71, former Washington resident, died Friday at Kent County Memorial Hospital in Warwick, R.I. She had been in failing health for one month. Interment was in Rhode Island.
She was born in Daviess County Jan. 29, 1921, to Walter and Carrie Potts Gilley. She married Ernest Carlson in October of 1945 and he survives.
Surviving are her husband and one daughter and one son, Mary Beth Smith and Raymond Carlson, both of Coventry, R.I., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, six sisters and one brother, Dorothy Jones and Shirley Bradley, both of Washington, Nancy Wesley, North Vernon, Ferbie Nolley, Montgomery, Merle Byrer, Odon, Trudy Davis, Columbus, and Walter (Giggs) Gilley, Happy Jack, AZ. One brother, Harold (Bud) Gilley and one son, Roger Carlson are deceased.
