Harold L. Gilley

Harold L. Gilley, 59, 1809 Memorial Ave., died at 9:25 Friday at the Daviess County Hospital.
Born on May 19, 1919 in Daviess County, he was the son of Walter and Carrie (Potts) Gilley. He married the former Helen Catherine Lannan on Sept 14, 1946 and she survives.
He attended the Washington schools, served in WW II in the Air Force and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was a retired carman for the B&O railroad, working the last seven years in Baltimore.
He was a member of the American Legion, Loogootee, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Carmen, Baltimore Chapter.
Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Anita Rose Gilley, three sons, Joseph Walter, Stephen Harold and Richard Lee, all at home. His father and step-mother, Walter and Mildred Gilley, Washington; mother-in-law, Mary Leida Lannan, Loogootee; seven sisters: Mrs. Ernest (Margaret) Carlson, Coventry, RI; Mrs. Clinton (Dorothy) Jones, Glendale; Mrs. Patrick (Shirley) Bradley, Montgomery; Mrs. Nancy Myers, Washington; Mrs. Gilbert (Ferbie) Nolley, Corning; Mrs. Merle Gootee, Loogootee; Mrs. Dale (Trudy) Davis, Columbus; and one brother, Walter, Glendale, AZ. Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Father Lowell Will will be minister and interment will be in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Gill Chapel. Rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.
