Lewis Emery Fitzgerald

Lewis Emery Fitzgerald, 70 year old retired carpenter and farmer with
residence at 414 south East Sixth street, died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday
at an Evansville hospital. He had been ill for the last four years and
seriously ill for the last four weeks.
He was the son of John and Mary Jan (Tucker) Fitzgerald and was born
December 8, 1883 in Veale township where he attended school. He was a
member of Veale Creek Baptist church.
Surviving are the widow, the former Nancy O. Boyd, whom he married February
22, 1912 these children: Norman Fitzgerald, city; Mrs. Royce (Lillian)
Gray, Washington township; Donald Fitzgerald, U.S. army, Japan; Mrs.
Louis (Imogene) Mandabach, Oakland City; Mrs. Clarence (Barbara) Carey,
city and Evelyn Fitzgerald , at home. 11 grandchildren, a sister, Mrs.
Aden Gaither, Mishawaka, and a half brother, Tillman Fitzgerald, city.
One son, Halet Ervin Fitzgerald, died in 1946.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Aikman Creek church
with Rev. Rae Barth and Rev. Ralph Beatty in charge and burial in the
church cemetery. Friends may call at the Gill chapel.
