MRS. PEARL EVANS DIED SUDDENLY
Mrs. Pearl Evelyn Evans, age 42, 815 Southwest Third street, city, died suddenly at her residence at 4:00 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Evans was born in Daviess County, October 29, 1919, the daughter of Louis and Lettie Potts Shelton. Her father survives. She married James C. Evans on January 11, 1936, and he survives. She was a member of the DeMolay Mothers and educated in the Washington schools. Two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Betty) McGee Jr. of Bloomington, and Mrs. Edward (Janice) Strange of this city, and a son, James C. Evans Jr., at home, survive. There are three grandchildren. Two brothers, Wilbur E. and Richard E. Shelton, and a sister, Mrs. William (Virginia) Tomey, all of this city, also survive. Four brothers and sisters have preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Gill Funeral Home with Rev. R.P. Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Reeve Township. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. today. The DeMolay Mothers will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday to pay respects.
