BERT ENNIS DIED SUNDAY, RITES TUESDAY
RETIRED B & O FOREMAN WAS LIFELONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY
Bert Ennis 70 of 412 S.E. Fourth street, retired foreman of maintenance of way at the B & O shops, died Sunday afternoon about 1:45 o'clock at the Daviess county hospital.
Death of Mr. Ennis was attributed to a complication of ailments of about one year. He had been seriously ill for two weeks, and was removed to the hospital Saturday.
Born in Veale township on March 15, 1873, he was a son of John P. and Elizabeth (Alexander) Ennis and spent his entire life in the community.
On July 23, 1902 he married Ida Tucker, who preceded him in death in 1930. there are no children. Mr. Ennis was a member of the United Brethren church and was educated in local schools.
Surviving are two brothers, Charles Ennis of Columbus, Ohio and Elmer Ennis of Veale township. There also are three nephews and one niece. Frank White, John Clifford and Carrie Ennis.
Funeral services are to be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Gill Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. McMurtry officiating, and burial following in Oak Grove cemetery. Friends may respects at the Gill Chapel.
