A Civil War Veteran Dead
William Eastridge, 74 years old and a veteran of the civil war, died between 10 and 10:30 o'clock this morning at his home on Grove street. A cancer of the stomach caused his death. He had been employed by the Bogards in cement work. He was Nelson Bogard's father-in-law.
He was born in Orange county, March 24, 1846 and was married twice, his last wife having been a Mrs. Grow. Two sons and one daughter survive him by his first marriage. He served in Company C, 53rd Indiana regiment in the war.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the home and burial will be made a Bethany cemetery.
